    Anti vibration rubber fan mounts

I'm currently trying to install a Xigmatek fan using the rubber plug type things they give you that are supposed to reduce vibrations. How the hell are you supposed to install them??

The instructions obviously say just push them through the holes on the fan. Right. Because that's so easy to do. I've been trying for 20 minutes and can't get the damn thing through, anyone done this and have tips?

Re: Anti vibration rubber fan mounts

I had the same problem last night when I was trying to mount a Noctua 90mm fan on my Shuttle ICE unit. I tried using a screwdriver to force it through but to know avail.Ended up using the screws instead!!

Re: Anti vibration rubber fan mounts

I've now got the fan attached with screws too, the way I was trying I'd probably have broken the rubber pieces. Shame as I'd like to have known if the rubber mounts would have made a difference to noise levels.
