    Need A New PSU

Ok, here goes... lets see if i can remember all this!

I've just bought a New Case, Thermaltake V2000a Alu in Sliver. And inside of this i have:

    Aero 7+ Cooler
    2 x WD Raptors (36gb versions)
    1 x 80gb WDSE
    1 x 160gb WDSE
    1 x 200gb WDSE
    1 x DVD/RW Nec 1100a
    1 x Benq 52x32x52 CDRW
    5 x Case Fans

It also has the front display that needs Power, the fan bus needs two power connectors and the front Thermaltake sign lights up so that needs a power supply to it..

Needs alot of juice! And more to the point, alot of power connectors. I was looking at getting a 550w PSU, probably the enermax.

Does anyone have any other ideas? I know they do a 660w now i think, or would a 550 handle all of the above?

550w CWT is well worth looking at. I've got a few of these now and they are awesome

There is another thread further down saying that the CWT+ are bought by antec and badged as their PSU's

I've just bought a CWT due to people's recomendations, though only a 450W model. Ordered yesterday and should get it today thanks to Scan!

You're on a spending spree arent you Big Al? A load of DVD's off of play a new 2.5 ghz CPU and now a 450W CWT PSU

Scott definetly go for the 450 W CWT, i used to have major stability problems with my old Q-tec 550W and generic 300W but the CWT is amazing no stability problems at all and a higher overclock to, it's very quiet, has 2 variable speed fan's and it has 1 SATA power connector as well

    I've justed checked on the CWT+ and it comes with the following connectors ;

7 MOLEX ,2 SATA AND NORMAL ATX & 4PIN POWER CABLES

The cables are uber long as well. They reach the bottom of my castek 1018 case with no issues at all so they are easy to hide and route around the case.

Payday's are fun arent they? My last one was two weeks ago, since then i have bought 2 x 36gn Raptors, Barton 2600, Thermaltake Case, MaxAttach 320gb NAS, Dell PowerEdge 600SC and now i have just ordered the 550w CWT PSU from scan.

Must be my lucky day too, i was just going to order it and i decided to go to lunch, came back and it was on Today Only, so got it a fiver cheaper

    Thanks for all your help!

Thats handy to know, the Thermaltake V2000a hard drive racks are mounted sideways (you see the back from the drive through the window) so the bottom right of my case is just full of wires and ide cables. Looks a right mess!

    Scott,

the castek case is actally the 1 used on the Scan 3XS-OC system ( see here for images - http://img.hexus.net/SOC/Case1.jpg and http://img.hexus.net/SOC/In1.jpg ) and this too has a hard-drive rack inside with the drives facing the left hand side of the case. I removed the floppy bay ( floppy ???? who uses these nowadays ) and have routed the wire down the back of this racking with the wire feeding to the front of the drives.

Thank god the cable lengths were generous or this would not have be possible and I would have wires all over the place
