    4GB RAM using 4 DIMM's

    hello,

I'm about to order another 2x1gb sticks of RAM for my system, and have a couple of questions.

Will my motherboard need any tweaking once the RAM is installed? Will it automatically run the RAM dual channel? Also, is it likely I will not be able to OC as much when I have 4 DIMM's installed? My motherboard was really quite pricey when I bought it, would that make it more likely to cope?

You might need tweak the voltages on the motherboard to make sure that the ram has enough power. what OS are you using? if the computer won't boot after you've installed the ram, then some people have booted the computer with 2gb and then put the other 2gb in. sounds a bit risky to me.....

what sort of OC are looking for? you shouldn't be anymore limit in OC potential than you are now, assuming you're using the same ram.

You might need to up the vMCH (northbridge voltage) a little. I have 4 sticks running in an IP35 Pro and it's great, no problems at all, the memory even overclocks fairly well.

Same here, m8 of mine has stuck 8Gb (dont ask why) 4x 2Gb and required no changes. He passed on his 2x1Gb to a friend who also has the IP35 Pro and it booted fine.
