I was recently having an argument in another forum about how much someone was spending on a pc I said if they wanted to spend x amount that was up to them and so on lol.
So it got me curious what do you spend on a new build?
< Less than £300
between £300 to £600
between £600 to £1000
Oh God Don't ask!!

Only been in custom PC building since xmas last year, and alraedy spent too much I built a PC, and then just keep upgrading and swapping things rather than just starting again.
if building totally from scratch for myself, then i would aim for £600 - £1000
otherwise i just upgrade.
the Quad core box i'm putting together will be just north of £600. I don't build them regularly though.
Less is more for me. I can wait that extra 2 seconds for something to load if it saves me £100...
Hard to say really last full build I did was an athlon 1700 when they were new, since then its been buts here and there. I am on the verge of a big upgrade so that will be
CPU
MOBO
RAM
Will keep the othr bits from my 939 rig.
Last build was £500 ish, but that was excluding windows, keyboard , mouse, speackers, screen, surge protection....just the computer in itself.
Looking to buy one of the new dell studio lappys for school too.
First build I did a couple of years ago having giving desktops a break was about £900 - £1000 but I can see there is no point spending that sort of money anymore. £800 gets you everything you could really need and I'd probably spend £600 now.
Just built the my system for just over £700.
All ordered as per my recent thread for £675 approx. Very nice spec. though!
My last new PC (excluding monitor) was just over 600 - it's been a while (opteron 165, 2gb, 250HD, A8N32-sli, EVGA 7900GT, P180 case, seasonic 430W).
Just about to max out the system when I finish downloading red alert http://forums.hexus.net/hexus-gaming...-download.html
spent around 900 quid including monitor 1.5yrs ago. its time for an upgrade.
My first proper gaming machine cost a bit more than I was expecting but gave me valubale info and most of the stuff I bought will go on and work with other systems when I do decide to upgrade.
My last build was around April 2006 so got a few more years before I consider doing a new update.
