Freezers are a bit noisey, I much prefer my Ninja to the Freezer.

That said the Xigmatec S1283 is very good value

Scan have stopped stocking the rev B ninja, I assume it will replaced by the Ninja 2 at some point if not already.

Obviously, just make sure your case is large enough to fit the S1283 (or any other large air cooler). What I found is in my case, the PSU sits too close to my liking to the S1283 so I decided not to install it. Waiting for some cash so I can buy a bigger case (Antec 1200 thanks to moogle and SiM) and away I go.

I'd save some money and get the Coolermaster CM-690

The Ninja isn't the most effective cooler around but comes into its own as a very low noise cooler with a slow fan (or no fan, used passively) - the fins are fewer but a wider spacing than on the "better" coolers so less restriction to a slight airflow.

If low noise is not of the essence, that Xigmatec or one of its clones (eg OCZ Vendetta 2) or the Asaka 965/966 are better than the AC but cheaper than the Ninja, Tuniq Tower or Thermalright 120 Extreme.

I bought the Xigmatec cooler (which has got a very good score at SPCR: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article30-page1.html) and fits inside Antec three hundred case fine.

    Re: Which CPU cooler?

OCZ Vendetta 2, if you have room for a 120mm HSF. This thing is awesome! It matches and even beats the likes of the TRUE and TT in most reviews, and the best bit? £26

Mine's running on an overclocked E8600 at 4.5Ghz per core... idle temps are 26 to 28 and the load temps under stress are 55 degrees. There's no arguing with that!! As a bonus the fan is very, very quiet too (about 32dB and 64CFM at ~1400rpm iirc). HIGHLY recommended

Hi,Akasa AK-966BL Intel LGA 775, 4U H/Pipe CU base with Ali fin Heat sink, Lo-noise Blue LED PWM fan would be a good choice too.
    £25 @ Scan

Seen some good reviews.Performance on par with Thermalright 120mm,Gigabyte G power pro

    Ordered one myself.
