Unless they use the same code for two different one's then I believe that is a single platter![]()
Yup, single platter. I have 3 of these, got them back in June from Novatech
What is the speed of these like?
I am running 2x250gb hdds for my programs ect.. but still have my windows install on an old 40gb maxtor pata drive, which is slowing things down no end (re installs and defrags have no real effect on the performance) so am thinking of scrapping it and getting a newer sata drive to replace it and hopefully speed things up quite a bit.
Very fast, amongst the very fastest in fact.
Faster than a 750GB F1, about the same as the 1TB as I remember.
I may get one then, but 320gb seems a bit of overkill considering I will only use it for windows, and documents, are the smaller ones noticably slower?
They're decent sure, but certainly seem to be a fair bit slower in benchmarks.
That said, whether you will perceive the difference is another story.
looking the smallest F1 scan offer is only a couple of quid cheaper and still 250gb, so going for a 320 even if I will never use it all isn't all that bad, prehaps I can start downloading pron lol
Anything has to be better than a 40gb\1.75mb cache maxtor 6L040J2, but saying that it has been reliable, and never skiped a beat, it just dosen't have the performance these days.
Just ordered one!
