    Would like to know what they have to say, I won't pretend to fully understand RAM compatibility but I can't see why that kit is not listed when some very similar ones are.

    It's also not on the QVL list from the Asus product webpage

    This is the cheapest dual stick 4GB 800Mhz kit I can find that IS on the QVL list

    http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...78&cat=0&page=

    47.99 + cheapest postage option @ 2.69 = £50.68

    Only a little more than the corsair modules but it does mean you'd be using another website.

    Corsair have confirmed compatibilty Which is fantastic, the Geil stuff has gone up by a quid too since you posted, as has the Corsair memory. Both around £50, but which would you guys choose?

    Re: Fancy giving me a hand guys?

    Wonder why it's not on the list of compatible kits then?

    Both Geil and Corsair do fine quality ram with lifetime warranties so there isn't much to separate them in my mind. That Geil kit has lower latencies but I don't think that'll make much difference in real life performance.

    I think I'd go for the Corsair kit personally, saves you using another website and the whole free postage hexus-scan deal will probably make it a little cheaper.

    EDIT: I can't add up properly, the Geil kit is actually still cheaper...

    Geil ------> £49.03 inc VAT + £2.69 delivery = £51.72 total
    Corsair --> £52.45 inc VAT + £0.00 delivery = £52.45 total

    ... by a whole 73p

    I would go for Geil because it's not high profile like corsair rams (which is good if you want to get a 3rd party memory cooler) but it also doesn't have heatspreaders but I don't know if it gets hot. My Ballistix ram modules used to get boiling hot so maybe it's just them or do all DDR2 modules get hot?

    That particular Corsair kit doesn't have the taller DHX heatspreaders, it's regular height ones. And that's actually another point in the Corsair kits favour in my opinion, I'd prefer to have spreaders than none at all. Although that said I'm sure the Geil kit would work fine as it is.
