Seems to be memory letting it down. Memory is http://www.ebuyer.com/product/146049
Is it crap memory, or is that an ok score?

Personally I could care less about Vista performance index scores, if you want to test your system run some benchmarks which will actually tell you something. And yes you could have faster ram or tighter timings but you probably wouldn't notice the difference in the real world, what you have is plenty good enough.
Any good benchmarks to run other than 3dmark?
I had the same problem, OC'd my CPU to 333mhz (3.0Ghz) Dropped my memory from 800mhz to 667mhz Rebooted, all at 5.9, no voltage changes needed
what's ur ram settings in bios?
Possibly you don't have it in dual data mode - are the sticks in slots 1 & 3?
Yep got it in slots 1 and 3![]()
You need to manually set those timings in the bios to what they are rated at
Which is 5-5-5-18 is case you were wondering and you will possibly need to up the voltage a little bit as well.
You could always try running the timings a bit tighter than stock as well say 4-5-5-12 have a play around put the voltage to 2.1v first though and then use Memtest to check stability. Saying that though Intel chips don't really gain all that much from tighter memory timings but tighter is still better!
Personally using Core Temp/Real Temp/Everest I would aim to keep the cores under full load (running Prime 95 or Orthos) to below 65oC other people are happy for them to be higher but I wouldn't be. That will mean that under heavy load during normal conditions you wouldn't expect to be going above 60oC.
I get the same score with my RAM getting 5.5, but there not set at the right timings, and vists score means jack anyway![]()
You're right, I was looking at the 1Gb sticks. I found a thread sbout these same sticks on the OCZ forum, which may be of interest: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=35418
What he said.
However, it obviously makes a difference somewhere, as whatever stupid test the vista index thing is doing is obviously sensitive to memory. I have virtually the same setup but with timings at 4-4-4-12 and get 5.9, though before reading this thread I would have argued that it should make bugger all difference...
