Need A GPU For Blu Ray

ok my htpc build is finally finished in terms of everything working except for one thing... STANDBY
Vista doesn't like to wake from standby for me and this is kind of a problem as it means either turning off the pc when not in use which stops me timing recordings or leaving it on constantly which mean going the cheaper and less power consuming amd route was a waste of time... I am pretty sure the cause is the intergrated graphics as there is nothing else on the system which could cause it and hopefully it isn't the motherboard in which case i'm screwed... therefore in order to fix this problem, well hopefully fix this problem i need a new gpu
All it has to do is handle dvds, tv, and most importantly hd content. Not a big ask for modern gpu's but tbh i dont really want to spend much more then 30 quid because otherwise if it turns out not to be the intergrated graphics i'll be out of pocket by quite a bit
Seeing as the issue is most likely with the ati driver i'd like to go the nvidia route so all i need is a card which can handle hd and preferably is passive... and if anyone can suggest one that they use or know wont cause me a problem with standby then great ...so... suggestions please...

EDIT: Btw it also has to be low profile cos of my case...ah... y is it so hard lol

Is that vista SP1 etc.. looked for drivers etc..? Not heard of this problem as of yet.

Best card for the job and in price range would be the HD3450 at around £25 and most if not all are passive so it won't add noise. But it's a shame because that is all you technically have now.

yeh i know thats y i went for this board but it cant really be anything else because the only other things in the pc r optical drive and hard drive... so it has to be the gpu because i dont think the sound can cause this... and yeh it is service pack 1 and yep the 3450 is what i was looking for but because of the ati drivers i would prefer an nvidia card... cheers for the suggestion tho

Odd thing is, nVidias Vista drivers are renowned for having stand by issues.....so, if your using ATI at the moment, the problem may be more Vista related, rather then nVidia/ATI.

Yup it should... and any ATI above a 2400pro will cope fine with Bluray playback. but if buying new get a 3450 or the 4xxx equivalent

... same thing with 8.9 drivers... looks like its a 3450 for me then... so stupid replacing an onboard 3450 with a seperate 3450...

At least it should work in xfire with the onboard, a little extra uumpff, but then the drivers will no doubt let you down.
