Looking good
Now lets see some 3DMarks!
looks nice, what board is that and is your NB fan custom?

My fingers are in epic pain and im fatigued. Currently defraging and then running scandisk.
This was my fastest upgrade yet for a PSU or mobo and it worked from the first time, except my windows drive wasnt properly plugged in.
Will bench after everything is scanned, might be tomorrow though.
The cards have virtually no overclocking headroom on the memory, even 975 mhz is unstable. I ordered two packs of cheap £3 akasa ramsinks and will stick them on top of the copper sinks on the back of each card.
Nice Upgrades
I have been thinking about getting that graphic card (512Mb ver.) for My HTPC/Gaming system (if it fits a Antec NSk2400)
What is the graphic card's fan noise like?
Cheers
Its totally silent to me, but I have bilateral hearing loss =P.
But the cards dont make anymore noise then 3x 12 cm case fans all hooked up to a fan controller and turned to minimum.
I'd like to know too, reviews I saw said it was pritty quiet, which sudgests powercolour fixed the problems they had on there 38x0 which also used this cooler (the fan was stuck at 100% constantly, only way to slow it was to unplug it from the card and run it through a fan controller)
I've got the non-modular, ocz gameXtream psu, it's a lovely unit
Do you know if this modular one is based on the FSP epsilon as well?
torsion, ive got the 512 version and its sweet, they are good cards.

Is it quiet though?

The tested graphics card is installed in a system that is completely passively cooled. That is passive PSU, passive CPU cooler, passive cooling on the motherboard and Solid-State HDD.
This setup allows us to eliminate secondary noise sources and test only the video card. To be more compliant with standards like DIN 45635 (we are not claiming to be fully DIN 45635 certified) the measurement is conducted at 100 cm distance and 160 cm over the floor. The ambient background noise level in the room is well below 20 dbA for all measurements. Please note that the dbA scale is not linear, it is logarithmic. 40 dbA is not twice as loud as 20 dbA. A 3 dbA increase results in double the sound pressure. The human hearing is a bit different and it is generally accepted that a 10 dbA increase doubles the perceived sound level.
It looks like Powercolor struck gold with their selection of the Zerotherm cooler. Under idle the card is extremely quiet - quieter than what our (really good) sound level meter can measure. I am absolutely certain that you will not hear this card over your other components in the PC - even with the case side open.
Under load the card gets slightly quieter because it has to keep the card cool, but still it is the quietest card under load that we ever tested, with the exception of fan less cards of course. I honestly would not have believe that such noise levels are possible with the HD 4850 design.![]()
Looks like they got it right this time
My previous Zerotherm cooled Club 3D 3850's were silent too.
My major problem with the 1 Gb version is the ram. If you look at the installed pic, the front chips have a nice larger heatsink and are cooled with the fan, but the back ones just have a thin strip along them. I would been better if they used the same ramsink that is on the front on the back as well. I am going to attach some akasa ramsinks to the back heatsinks and hope that I can at least get 25 Mhz more.

Overclocks so far with a 12 CM side fan over the graphics cards:
Only 65 degrees at 700 Mhz with the 12 Cm fan on full.
1000 Mhz on the ram was immediately problematic, causing errors every few seconds, but 990 Mhz is currently stable.
I might be able to hit 1000 Mhz with the extra ramsinks I am getting to place on the rear chips, or if Powercolor had bothered to use the larger sinks that are on the front modules on the back ones as well.

I think I'll grab a matching keyboard and mouse for my monitor next:
Saitek Cyborg Keyboard
Saitek Cyborg Mouse
They are red, but they should match the monitor a lot better. I will wait this time though, they arent really too important.
