New build shows no display!!! Please help

I've just put together my new build....however once i turned it on after getting all excited there was no display on my screen. lights on the motherboard light up and all the fans are spinning. Me and my flat mates have so far ruled out that both the graphis card and RAM work by testing them in another rig. also the screen we used along with the cables etc all work fine with the other rig. the components i have are as follows....

-Coolermaster Black Elite 330 Case With eXtreme Power 460W PSU

-Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 2.5GHz Socket 775 800FSB 2MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor

-Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L iP35 Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard

    -Corsair 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL5 Heat Spreader Lifetime Warranty

-BFG 9600GT OC2 512MB Dual DVI HDTV Out PCI-E Graphics Card

Hard drive and Optical are from an old build, Hdd is Maxtor 200Gb sata

the hard drive is spinning and deffo works as was taken from my last rig, along with the optical drive.
this leaves the motherboard and processor to be ruled out. the phase LEDs on the mobo are fully lit green through to red, which in the mobo manual idicates the processor load.

i hope that all this info may lead some of you to give me some idea of what might be wrong with it. would really appreciate any ideas that you may have.

    Cheers guys

Do you have another s775 CPU you can try in the board?

Checking Gigabytes website you need to have BIOS revision F6a to support your CPU and as it is still classed as a beta bios I doubt your board shipped with it.

That will be my guess as to why it is not posting.

To solve it you need to flash the bios for that you are going to need another S775 CPU to go in the motherboard. So back to my original point do you know anybody with a S775 CPU if you do steal it quick and have a test ad if it posts flash the bios you can get it from here

Re: New build shows no display!!! Please help

Hi guys, i live with shumbaboy and am trying to help him get his Pc up and running, i really have no idea what to do when it comes to flashing and updating bios's etc, i have a E7200 in my Pc but if possible would like to fix it without taking my CPU out and putting it in his PC and its a mission and i dont have and thermal paste etc. what do i need to do and how do i go about doing it? and is it more than likely that this is the problem?
    Cheers, Rich

Okay if it is a BIOS CPU incompatability which seems likely then to upgrade the BIOS you will need to use a CPU that the board recognises (your E7200 is probably ok but not guaranteed) without one you can not get in to flash the bios.

On how to flash the bios its all in the motherboard manual, but basically you need the latest bios file available on a USB memory stick/hard drive/Floppy disk and on post press END to enter QFlash then follow the instructions on screen.
