Which RAM timings at DDR2 800?

    hello,

    I have these modules:

    http://www.corsair.com/_datasheets/T...48-8500C5D.pdf

At 1066MHz, the latencies that are officially supported by Corsair are 5-5-5-15 AFAIK. However, when I run this memory at only 800MHz, which latency timings should I use? I've tried looking on the corsair site, but there are different latencies supported by different 800MHz modules even at the same voltage. For example, the high end modules have 4-4-4-12 I think. I know that the JEDEC standard is 5-5-5-18, but surely with these being higher end modules the latencies can be tighter?

    Thanks in advance!

Re: Which RAM timings at DDR2 800?

You will have to test the modules to find out Corsair will tell you to run them at 5-5-5-18 probably but set them to 4-4-4-12 and then run Memtest http://www.memtest.org/ a few times to check stability if they fail then relax the timings a bit try for example 4-5-5-12 instead just keep playing around until you find what works!

Saying that Intel CPUs are relatively insensitive to memory timings so if you have to run at 5-5-5-18 it wont be the end of the world, but i would be very surprised if you can not get them running at something a bit tighter than that.
