    Finally!

    Yo guys,

New card came in yesterday, put it in last night, couldn't install Vista though cause the Disk Drive was to old, so I bought new one today and installed Vista 64-bit, finally everything went fine! lol

    Some fast screens ;f

    CPU

    GPU

    CoreTemp

About CoreTemp, is this a bit normal? The temperatures differ a lot between Core #0 and Core #1, that a bit weird or?

    GPU Temp

Another question, I've installed Vista, on the WD6400AAKS, there's only one HDD, one partition, so the complete drive is the 600GB C drive.
I wanted to create another 2 partitions (so I'd get 3 in total) but I couldn't when installing Vista (unlike with XP, though I knew this)
Now I know there's a Shrink Partition option in Vista, but it doesn't let me shrink it to the size I want it (like 100GB for only the OS partition), it can't shrink it below 300GB, any way I can fix this or any way I can make the partitions I want? (~100GB for OS, ~200GB for Games and ~300GB for Data)

Haven't tried any games yet, haven't fully stressed the PC either, I actually wanted to fix the partitions before I started installing to many stuff.

At the moment I can't think of anything else I'd want to know or mention ;f
Everything looking good though, completly new PC, good feeling lol

    Re: Finally!

Temperature delta's are more often found on quad cores, and are usually about 8c max I've seen...

I'd try rotating the cooler 90* or just re seating it with another layer of TIM

A stuck sensor is common on the Wolfdale's, or it could be your cooler/thermal paste not on right.

    BIOS up to date?

Both the cooler and the paste seemed to be put right.

    BIOS up to date?
Got the motherboard about a week ago, haven't updated it though. (wise to do so?)

Friend of me has the E8400 aswell, seemes his cores also differ (a bit) from each other.

I think I'll try Partition Magic to fix my problem with the partitions ;f

    Re: Finally!

Yes, have a look at what the updates fix, there might be one for that problem.

The cores will always differ, but yours are wrong.

To see if one is stuck, run a stress test so that the temp goes above 42c and you might see it move.

    Re: Finally!

Hmm I will, I tried to create partitions using Partition Magic but didn't seem to work, it gave some error saying it didn't work with this version of Vista (Vista Ultimate 64-bit)

Anyone has some other idea? I'd really prefer to have 3 partitions rather than having one huge... lol

Try EASEUS Partition Manager Home Edition V2.0, http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm, you've nothing to lose it's free for home use.

But, as with all such software, make sure you have a *working* backup, just in case.

    Re: Finally!

Thanks, I got the PC running a few days now, it's awesome lol

Last night had a castle siege on Lineage 2, probably arround 400 players together on a small piece of the map, huge animations and fights, PC ran like a charm on full details, was even dualboxing and didn't notice much of any sort of lag.

Lineage 2 doesn't stress the PC as much as a game like Crysis would though, but it was a nice comparisson to my old PC.
Graphic card ran arround ~50 to ~55 degrees during the siege, with fan speed on 40%.
CoreTemp showed that both cores during the siege were arround 45 degrees.

About the partitions, I fixed it with a XP CD, I started the XP Home installation, created a partition with it and cancelled the installation, than installed Vista, it recognized the partitions made by XP and works like a charm now ^^
