Opinions on a <£700 system

Thought I'd take advantage of the VAT savings by building my first gaming pc (okay, the VAT was just an excuse!)

Here's what I've got so far, all from ebuyer

Antec 900: // £68
Arctic Power 700W PSU // £41
Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 // £16
C2D E8400 // £132
ASUS P5N-D 750i mobo // £82
4GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800MHz // £41
XFX GTX260 216core // £220
Seagate 500GB 32mb cache HDD // £44
LG DVD+-RW 22x drive // £14

Total: £660

Just wondering if people had thoughts about this setup?

Would the PSU be okay to do SLI in maybe a few years? That kinda thing!

Thanks!

It looks nice enough apart from the psu but have you considered
http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=16444

Hell of a lot of PC for the money. Just the graphics which are a little weak.

If it is for gaming though I would stick with roughly what you have.

Get a decent PSU, cheap rubbish like that will do you no favours. £60 will get you something around 500W from a decent brand and that is more than you need.

Change the case to the coolermaster CM-690, better case overall.

I'd change the CPU to the E5200. They can be as little as £55 on scan today only

Motherboard. Biostar P45 or DFI P45 for a little more. Forget SLi with a card like that.

640GB Samsung Spinpoint will be cheaper and better.

OK.. so I changed everything lol

As the system would mainly be for gaming, that i7 system's gpu wouldn't really be up to scratch!

Do you think a 4870 would be better than the gtx260?

Certainly the 1GB Hd4870's make a good case for themselves

Hi,
As I have said to a couple of other people, get this RAM, its such good value, especially at that price.....
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143844

Great performance due to the micron D9 ICs...... 1000mhz is nothing to these things, one guy got 1200 cas6 on 2.2v, just straight away like that, no tweaking.....

just me.......
