    Smile Four good MOBOs?

    Hey,

I've been reading reviews until they are coming out of my ears! They all conflict each other so I was hoping I could pick your brains!

    I really would like to know the best four mobos for different scenarios;

#1 The cheapest no thrills board with onboard gpu, for intel chip.
#2 A mid range gamer mobo that can take a little OC'ing for intel
#3 A high end mobo with all the bells and whistles for intel.
#4 Lastly an overclocking beast of a board where money is no object... again for intel.

Thanks to who ever replies !!!

    Um,

    1. Cheap no whistles G31 chipset any of the boards you like ~£40.
    2. Asus P5Q Pro (Does £90 count as mid range?)
    3. DFI LT X48 £155
    4. DFI UT X48 £190 but if you actually need anything more than the LT is questionable

    Just my thoughts

    Re: Four good MOBOs?

I agree with webby mostly. Most P35's (nice DFI ones about for £80 or less) or P45's will do for a mid range board as they happen to have a 1600MHz FSB available. So most overclocking will be happily taken care of.

Which brings me to board 3 and 4. For 3 the P5Q - Deluxe has a stupid number of features, check it out to see if anything appeals.

And for 4, since Clunk has hit 600MHz of the uATX DFI P45 then I think the Normal ATX DFI P45 would be a fun overclocking board Unless you actually want 16x crossfire then the X48's just seem like more money and little else extra.

    Re: Four good MOBOs?

#3 and #4 - Asus P6T deluxe with OC Palm.

It's not out yet but images and specs as well as a few 'first look' reviews are available online.

It's Intel based - socket 1366 not 775, high end and good for overclocking to boot

    Re: Four good MOBOs?

The OP didn't state a platform and with the i7 around the corner now it would be quite silly to not think about them before deciding what avenue you wish to explore.
