    Antec P182 Vs 900 Vs 1200

If you read my other thread you would know that I am building a new pc, and that I decided that I wanted a P182. However now im having second thoughts, expecialy when reading older threads and reviews of each case.

So I thought I would ask people with hand-on experience with each of the case.

Could you please vote, and I you have the time tell me why you think your case (or cases) is best.

P182, quiet, good cable management, cool enough without sacrificing performance for silence.

    Re: Antec P182 Vs 900 Vs 1200

Coolermaster CM-690. That ticks pretty much all the boxes the P182 does for less money. The P182 is higher quality, and has better features for keeping hard drives quiet but I would imagine the coolermaster has the cooling edge.

The 1200 as SIM said is great if you want the P182 cable management with a load of drives but has little point otherwise. The cooling will be good but excessive in most circumstances, unless there is a lot of drives or you want to water cool.

The 900 isn't worth the money over the coolermaster imo, the P182 is if drive silence is crucial to you. It does keep them pretty quiet though and there are very cheap ways of modding to get drives quiet

    Re: Antec P182 Vs 900 Vs 1200

I ticked both the 900 and 1200, cos the 900 is really nice, cool, small ish (matter of oppinion), with enough drives, and looks cool.
Having owned a 900, I presume that a 1200 is the same but bigger and better, more cooling, more HDDs, ect. They are not too noisy either.

    Re: Antec P182 Vs 900 Vs 1200

Depends on what you want. 900/1200 if you want to OC to the max and still like lots of blue lights. P182 if you want it cool, but want it quiet even more and have moved on to a more minimalist look. 1200 vs 900 is simply about how much you have to put in versus how much room you have to put the case. With no constraints (size, price) the 1200 is the better of the two.

The P182 is really good if noise is a concern and cable management is a doddle, even without a modular PSU.

and honest eh. I voted 1200 too because it keeps all the dust on the front filters saving me having to hoover everywhere around the room I just do a quick sweep of the front grill and I'm done

Also it keeps the components really cool.

    Re: Antec P182 Vs 900 Vs 1200

I don't have experience of the P182 so can't really comment with any authority but I will say I'm very happy with my 900, have four HDD's in there atm, 2 x 74Gb Raptors in a RAID 0 and 2 x 250Gb Hitachis.

That's quite enough HDD space in the case for me.

Have to admit I am attracted to the P182 though.

Antec 1200 - Depends if you want a monster case...tis good though.

Antec 900 - I use one now. Its silent, cool running and well price.

P182 - Looks nice, and undoubtedly a good cool, runner. The days of having doors on the front though are gone and they look wrong. Nice case...just outdated.

    Re: Antec P182 Vs 900 Vs 1200

Nonsense - the P182 gives an understated look that's quieter than the 900/1200.

Across all the big manufacturers, some cases have doors and others don't. It's been that way for years. Simply down to personal choice.

I don think the P182 is outdated. There is nothing wrong with the door on the front. I quite like it, it offers and easy and effective way of keeping my sisters sticky fingers of my pc.

Also I curious as to how 5.2" drives are loaded in the P182, from the images I have seen it looks like you need to open the front cover, remove the cradle using clip that are reached by holes on either side of the drive space. Am I right??

I seem to remember just attacthing a rail either side and sliding them in from the front. Clips facing the front of the drive.
