would this share my printer?

Well im looking to get a print server or a new one so i can use it upstairs and it can be connected downstairs, saw this at pc world

Probably best asking on a Mac forum, but personally speaking this looks like a waste of money, because I can't see HTF it would work.

What I found is that there appear to be two items around, and are both called Airport "somethingorother". One costs around £65, the other is this. The £65 I believe. This I reckon is a receptor for the other.

I think it is a mis-labelled or mis-described product - after all, it is PC World!

I can't speak for the Apple device but I can tell you that this will do the job.

I bought myself one last month and it works very well either wired or wireless.

I got a Canon MP600R. Printer, Scanner, with built in Wireless & Ethernet. But that's a different story.

That's very very cheap if it's an airport express that's for sure!

FWIW, airport expresses do work under Windows and you should be able to print share with it. But in reality, any wireless router with a USB port should be fine.

thing is the printer was around £50 and dad doesnt want to spedn £50+ for just to add internet to it when we could get a new printer. Guess ill wait till the xboxs come on offer again .

Printers with networking built in tend to me more expensive, and if you do spend £50 now on a printer server, it will still work with a future printer - watch out for the interfaces provided though.

At present i network 2 computers with their own printers using a Netgear DG834v3 its the wired version, you can choose the printer to send docs to,, with Netgear being good gear i'am thinking of buying a wireless one
