    GTX 260 on 26" HDTV

Was just thinking about how my new rig will look on my TV (i'm using it as a monitor), anyone else us a HDTV for there monitor and what do you think of the results? Also will the GTX 260 offer enough resolution on 26" so everything doesn't look really poor quality?

Re: GTX 260 on 26" HDTV

You are obviously not very well informed. Let me set the record straight. TV's unlike monitors cannot be pinned down to a certain resolution based purely on the size of the screen. However they are ALL much lower res than an equivalent size monitor.

Full HD on a 42" LCD TV is 1920 x 1080 pixels is actually lower resolution than your average 24" monitor which is typically 1920 x 1200 pixels. Smaller screen, but more pixels = Sharper image

A GTX260 will run games nicely on fairly high res monitors, so it will have no problem with any LCD TV you hook it up too. Your 26" TV is probable 13** x 768 res.

As for the quality, it will look amazing The fact the picture isn't as sharp is compensated by the fact you don't sit as close to a TV screen as you do to a PC!

Also will the GTX 260 offer enough resolution on 26" so everything doesn't look really poor quality?
This question is wrong. The GTX260 doesnt dictate the resolution, the TV you it connect it too does. The GTX260 will offer enough raw power to play games at full detail at the resolution your TV is capable of displaying.

just to add to cptwhites post lcdtv/hdtv's upto 19" tend to have the same resolution as a LCD monitor
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
