I think that those motherboards do not overclock well with quad core processors so you are better off with a dual core. A e7200 or a e5200 would be nice and should provide enough headroom for overclocking. Do not forget to buy an aftermarket cpu cooler (like this one http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=700899).

As for the ram, if you are working in 32-bit then this 2gb 800Mhz 4-4-4-12 from corsair would be nice: http://scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=291363.

Regarding the power supply, I cannot recommend anything unless I know your graphics card(s). What do you have/plan on getting?

E8500 should serve you well if you want raw performance and not that bothered by quads extra processors for background tasks. Nehalm should be out soon which will turn the cpu market on its head a little so worth considering.

The psu is the most important part so don't skimp out without knowing the rest of your pc its vry difficult to tell you how large psu you need. Its a common misconception that Watts are more important then amps but infact its the other way around. With a good brand and good Watts you can generally assume the psu will serve you for several years.

Coolers depend on the size of your case

Newegg.com generally has the best US prices if thats the dollar your referring to...

680i doesn't overclock well with quads as has been mentioned and does not support 45nm chips so E8500's are out.
