Decent Speakers for £30-ish

I want some decent speakers, just for general use if mates come round or if i want to annoy my parents with loud explosions
I won't use them loads, as I have headphones that i use, but it's just something for when i need them.
Don't really know what to look for tbh.

Ideas?

I think 2.1, as would want a sub I doubt i'd get anything decent for the price at 5.1 and above.

Is it worth looking on fleebay atm? People might be selling stuff what with the credit crunch etc? Or is it not worth looking at electricals on ebay?

I've had success with speakers over ebay - just assume they are always going to be B-grade or worse, even if described as new.

You can pick up the Logitech X240s for £24.99 at Comet. And I can recommend them - just bought a set for my son.

They're fine for everything, and are better than the price suggests, but clearly they are not going to match £200 HiFi separates...
