    Re: My entertainment PC

Right you want a media centre PC with BluRay budget £700 since I have no other info I will assume no gaming in which case this is going to be easy!

Case: Antec Fusion Remote - £85
    PSU: Enermax Pro82+ 385W - £40
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H, 780G - £60
    CPU: AMD 4850e, dual core 2.5GHz 45W - £42
    Memory: 2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800 - £27
    Hard Drive: 640GB WD AAKS - £48
BluRay: LG GGC-H20L, Reads BluRay and HD-DVD Writes DVDs - £66

    Total: £370

    Now for some optional extras,

    Sound: Auzentech X-Plosion Cinema 7.1 Soundcard - £66
TV: Hauppage Nova T 500 Duel DVB Tuner - £52
CPU Cooler: Scythe Mini Ninja (you will need to check compatibility in terms of height) - £28
    Case Fans: Scythe S-Flex 1200rpm - £12 each
Speakers: No idea best get some ideas from people who know!

    Total £538 (2x fans)

That leaves you £160 for speakers.

    Re: My entertainment PC

Oh just realised I forgot an OS so your options will be,

XP (£60-90), Vista home premium (£70) or a nice free version of Linux (£0)

Doh and a keyboard/mouse, what am I like! You can either go for a wired keyboard and mouse (probably a bit silly) wireless keyboard and mouse sets are available from £15 or a wireless keyboard with touchpad (like this http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=799627) which will cost from £25.

    Re: My entertainment PC

Why the Gigabyte board? The Asus is cheaper
    http://scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=787072

Everything else webby has said looks good. The mini ninja fits and for noise purposes I would get that with a couple of 800rpm or 1200rpm Scythe slipstreams from here for about £6 each. That's if the Tri-cools that come on the case aren't quiet enough.

The enermax PSU is find but I would probably buy the corsair 450W VX being more comfortable with Seasonic/Corsair PSU's

    Re: My entertainment PC

Gigabyte board because it supports HDMI 1.3 which may or may not be important to the buyer but potentially worth the upgrade. ASUS board doesn't specify which version of HDMI it supports but since the older gigabyte boards don't specify either I would be tempted to think its not 1.3.
