hey hexus im going to be building a computer this week and these are the parts that im ordering

Intel core 2 quad Q6660 2.4ghz
4gb DDR2 1066mhz ram
Asus P5N72-T premium NF780i motherboard
750gb 7200 rpm HD
XFX 896MB GTX260 216 core
1u Dynatron P199 S775 quad core copper heat sink
LG DVD RW drive
650W PSU

all for £782.52 inc VAT and i was wondering if that the PSU has enough power to handle those components i know that the 260 requires a 500W but i what does the q6660 require and im also gonna be overclocking the processor aswell to aroun 3.0Ghz maybe.

The psu is called - "650W EZCool silent SLI pPFC Power Supply PCI-E + SATA AMD & P4 Ready 12cm Silent Fan ATX12V Ready"
and i was wondering if this is any good because its only £25 and seems to good to be true.

Get a corsair 650W instead then. For £25 it will probably be a pile of crap...there's more to a PSU than just wattage.

I highly reccomend you spend a bit more on a decent PSU. You should never skimp on a PSU really, a cheap one can damage your whole system.

EDIT: Also that CPU cooler may not be too great. If you really don't need low-profile, I suggest you don't get it.

Drop the ram to ddr2 pc6400 800mhz
a cpu "fsb" is actually 4 times the actual fsb, ram speed is 2 times the actual fsb
ie at stock speeds a q6600 is running at 266mhz fsb, so pc6400 is running at 400mhz fsb at stock, so there's plenty of overclocking head room there.

That PSU is good, but I personally prefer the Corsair units (the 650w one is good) - they have a larger fan which is quieter, and are made by reputable OEMs.
As for the heatsink it should come with a fan, but personally I prefer the Xigmatek.

The 1U Dynatron cooler you have in your original list is intended for 1U server cases, which means it probably isn't a great performer (especially when you start overclocking) & is definitely extremely noisy.

I second the recommendations for Xigmatek or Thermalright coolers, have a gander at some of the Scythe range too.

I'd also be very tempted to look for a different motherboard, unless you're for some reason considering 3-way SLi it's very overpriced and gets pretty painful reviews - take a look at some P45 boards.

I've just bought a scythe ninja II. Hasn't come yet but I started to wonder if I should have got the xigmatek. If I'm not happy with the Ninja I will get one of these instead and use the ninja else where.

The 92mm xigmatek is good so far, <50C load(intel burn test) @ 3.6ghz on an e8400 and the paste wasnt done too good(computer problems, many reseats) so i bet its more like 45C if done correctly.

The 120mm version should be VERY good, id expect 40C load at most.

I would agree with NightShadowUK about the motherboard, i have its baby brother and its really good, and the one up, (the one linked) is meant to be better on every front.....
That quad will be hitting 4 in no time,
