HITACHI VGA Problem!

Hi I recently bought this Hitachi TV and when I go to view the PC connection it says no input found then when I plug in the VGA cable at the back the no input goes away but the blue screen with nothing there remains.

Any ideas how to fix it?

have you set the PC up to show on the TV?
are you using it as a second monitor? cos that'll require you to set it up accordingly.
