So, a friend can get me discounts at Misco

Not a great site I know, but a mate of mine works there and I've been thinking I need (read: want) a new motherboard and graphics card.
I know it's either going to be the 4850 or 4870 but the motherboard is what I still need a hand on. I want it to be P45 based and the two main makes on Misco are Asus and Gigabyte.
I've been looking at Gigabytes for a while and haven't heard much, if any, bad press about them; Asus on the other hand ...
I was looking at some kind of Asus P5Q Pro, or E or, I dunno, there are many Asus P45 boards there.
As for Gigabyte, I first saw the GA EP45 DS4 then, for £20 cheaper there is the GA EP45 DS3P, I see no difference myself.
Price limit I suppose is around £100 each retail but this is obviously different to what I will be paying after discount.

Was just hoping you could impart your wisdom, CPU will be an E8400 by the way, want to overclock as far as possible (just on air at the moment) so this is the main requirement.

    Thanks in advance!

You do know that the chances are, even after a Misco discount, it will probably be cheaper to buy elsewhere.

Doubt it, the Gigabyte board is about the same price on Scan (which is where I would use) and the 4850 I was looking at was actually cheaper than Scan so by my reckoning, that should work out cheaper.

That's unusual for Misco to be cheaper than Scan - but good luck.

Also check delivery charges as you can get free delivery at Scan through Hexus membership

    Good Luck with that.
I have always found Misco to be way over the price mark compared to others.

I have also found their customer service to be excellent IF you are a business customer. The private customer scenario isn't so good.

OK, regardless of where I'm getting it from, can someone answer the question?
Is the P5Q Pro a good option if I'm going to be overclocking an E8400 or should I get a Gigabyte board.
I've read a lot of good stuff about the P5Q Pro and how well it overclocks, anyone had any personal experience?

P5Q is meant to be a great board. With excellent overclocking capabilities.
