Question Stupid little Logitech Cordless desktop mx problem

I recently decided to treat myself to the above mentioned k/b and mouse. And what a great combo it is! BUT, i have noticed a very strange random problem with my keyboard! Whenever I have more than two sessions of internet explorer (including download boxes) open, the two Enter buttons don't work!? As soon as I close some IE windows down, they work again. Huh?? I have downloaded the latest itouch stuff from Logitech's site, but still no luck. Unfortunately its not uncommon for me to get the weirdest problems with pc's! Anyways, you guys got any ideas whats causing this stupid little annoying problem? Thanks, Ant..... PS Please excuse the lack of spacing in this post!

hmmm, well is definately a software problem. I thought I'd be clever and try using XP's on screen keyboard! But its buttons don't work either! How sucky is that!?

As for the lag in games, well, I'm only an occasional gamer, so that doesn't bug me tbh.

I've had a few friends try them and they all ended up going back to their wird ones cos of lag.

This is actually the first cordless keyboard and mouse I've used, so I can't really compare it to any other cordless stuff out there. To be honest I haven't noticed any lag with my set. Actually wouldn't even notice it was wireless without looking! But like I said earlier I'm just an occasional gamer. I imagine the real enthusiasts could probably find some issues with lag.

I'm not sure about the logitech keyboard, but all of the reviews I've read about the MX700 mouse, have praised it, especially for the lack of lag! They've all been rated higher than the microsoft stuff out there.

    Anyone else got any opinions?

Erm if you knew anything about the mx cordless series or ever read a single review about them then you'd know that there is no lag at all due to the way the transmitter and receiver works.

I'm not suggesting that this is a solution to any specific problem in this thread and I have never detected lag in the mx kit but the following might be of general interest to you:

"All Logitech keyboards use a membrane technology without diodes. The detection scheme that is used is often called multikey rollover.
Logitech keyboards can detect any 2-key combination but not all the 3-key combinations. Logitech place the keys in the matrix in order to guarantee that the 3-key combinations required by Microsoft are supported. Basically they support any combination of 2 modifier keys (LWIN, RWIN, LCTRL, RCTRL, LSHIFT, RSHIFT, LALT, RALT) plus one other key pressed at the same time (there are a few exceptions to this rule).

It's true that a gamer who needs to press some keys simultaneously might encounter a ghost key situation. In this case the keys are not reported to the PC until the ghost key situation is cleared. A full n-key rollover keyboard would avoid this problem. However these keyboards are more and more
difficult to find on the market because of their higher cost (they need one mechanical switch and one diode per key)."

So there you have it. The Dinovo keyboard sometimes gives the impression of lag because, after a set time of no activity, it goes to sleep and it takes a second to start up again. Example, if you boot your computer up and have touched no keys, it will take a second for yor first key press to take effect. After that, it is fine. There was also a start up freeze with the mx900 but the latest drivers have taken care of that.

    Hope this is of interest.
