    How does this build look?

Yo guys, so I got my new PC, all working fine, thanks again for all the help I got here!

Now, to the point, a friend of me wants a new PC and he asked me to help him with it, so I put something together for him.
His budget is ~600 Euro, he needs it for gaming, mostly Lineage 2.
He already has a Monitor, CD/DVD Drive, Keyboard, Mouse.

    I put this together for him;

    Antec Three Hundred - €55
    Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200AAKS - €49
    Asus P5Q Pro - €119
    Sapphire HD4850 Dual-Slot - €139
    Corsair DIMM 2 GB DDR2-800 DHX Kit - €59
    Intel Core™ 2 Duo E8400 - €159
    Corsair VX450 - €65

    Total: €645

He will be using Windows XP Home 32-bit.

Anything I forgot? Maybe anything that I could do better? Any advice ;p?

    Thanks in advance

I don't see any ram, but besides that everything looks good. What about getting a Q6600 and overclocking it, instead of the E8400?

and if it is for gaming then the dual core is better at it (games currently don't use more than ~2.4ghz dualie [a few exceptions of course, but very few]), quaddies come to the fore at everything else, but don't quite perform aswell in games

    but it looks fine TBH

I was skim reading. I did not see the word 'RAM' so assumed no ram. Really should learn to stop doing that.

Anyhow go for the quaddy, once overclocked there will be negligible difference in games between it and the E8400, especially at resolutions of 1280*1024 and above.

It will be mainly used for gaming, also I doubt he wants to overclock anything, he just wants to buy, install and play ^^

So as I see it, if he would want to cut the price a little, he should go for a less CPU? Which would be recommended than?
Anyone else got something to mention ;P?

Re: How does this build look?

Clock for clock a duel and a quad running in a game which does not support multi threading the quad will win due to having additional cores for running anti-virus, OS etc.

The duel to quad debate starts from quads being clocked lower for the same cost, as you say yourself 2.4GHz is enough and since that is where the Q6600 starts I don't think its really an issue. Personally I would go for the quad but that is just me or if i was going for the duel I would get the E5200 and overclock it the price savings are considerable!

Re: How does this build look?

whoops, i thought it was the E5200 in the OP, teach me to not double check things. yeah, if they are around the same price then the quaddie is better because it isn't much different in games, and is better at everything else.
