Really slow booting SS51G

I've just started to play with a new SS51g.

It's got a 40gb HDD and is running Win XP Pro.

The memory is standard Pc2700, but it's pucker.

The CPU is a Celeron 2.4.

It's just really slow at booting, it stays at the

Boot/Post/Main Processor for about 45 seconds (on boot)
(Where the BIOS is shown, Energy Star, etc..no GUI-ish)

Sometimes at the stage before it waits for 30 seconds.

Any ideas?

What Have I tried and failed:
1.Using different memory
2.Clearing the CMOS
3.Using P4 1.8

Long shot but have you tried clearing the CMOS or reseating processor/memory?

I've tried the Memory and CMOS, no joy.

BIOS update wouldn't explain slow boot up? would it?

Well it sounds like you're saying that it's slow to POST not to boot up the OS so before the OS takes over the BIOS is in control. It's a long shot but it's worth a try. If it's slow booting the OS then the 1st suspect is the HDD, 2nd the configuration of the OS (but presuming it's a clean install there should be no issues with it)

What are we defining the Main processor page as?

Boot up to me means loading the OS.

Definately look at a BIOS update.
Just out of curiosity, was this one of the big pockets shuttles?

This was a big pockets shuttle. Looks like it's never been used.

Try a flash - Mine sits there for 2-3 secs max.
