    Price check + spec help

Hello all could someone give me an idea of price for the below parts please.

AMD 5000+ BE runs 3.0Ghz no problem
    ASUS M2N-SLi Deluxe
    Leadtek 8800 GT 512Mb

I'm looking at a little upgrade for my rig just motherboard cpu graphics card. I have managed to put away £250 + anything i get for the above.

Could someone spec me a new chip motherboard and graphics card please the rest of my rig is in my system. Maybe just get a new GPU? I game at 1400 X 900 on 19" monitors and I'm not looking to change the monitors.

Re: Price check + spec help

While you are running at a reasonably low resolution by todays standards you are stil most likely GPU bound in the majority of situations.

I would keep the CPU and Motherboard and just get a new graphics card. With the CPU overclocked to 3GHz you will see no benefit in games from changing to anything other than a quad core which with a new motherboard will swallow the majority of your budget.

So a new graphics card depending on how much you want to spend I would be looking at a ATi HD4850 (£100+) (possibly the 1GB model, ~£130+) or a 9800GTX+ (£120+) both offer a big boost over the 8800GT but if your willing to spend a bit more then a GTX260 (192 cores £180+, 216 cores £215+) or a HD4870 (£170+) (or a 1GB version ~£190+) will give you an even bigger boost.

Your only other option would be to get a second 8800GT 512MB for SLi but I would expect you to need a larger PSU while your 450W would probably be enough it may be stretching it into the regions of noisy fan speeds.
