    Question looking for a dremel!

    hi,

Im looking for a dremel to do some basic case modding, nothing too fancy, so dont go crazy on the me lol. Im willing to spend 20-30 quids on one ,so anyone can recommend one that would be great!

Do i need to buy extra blades if i wanted to cut steel?

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: looking for a dremel!

You'll probably need the extra discs as cutting steel with a dremel will usually wear them out faster, and if you force the dremel to cut rather than use it's speed to cut slowly it'll kill the motor faster too

There's a nice kitted one on Amazon with the flexible extender thingy, good for engraving with that and it has a stand I think. Have a check over there.

    Re: looking for a dremel!

£20-30 so you want a rotary tool not a dremel then

A Dremel will set you back a bit more than £30 if it comes with any accessories.

You might like to look here http://www.tool-shop.co.uk/ they have the whole range of Dremels as well as other tools you can actually get the 300 from them tool only for £30 I would probably find the extra and get the set of 25 pieces plus bonus speed click cutting wheels £40, the flex shaft is useful but it will all depend on what you are going to be cutting.

B&Q had some reasonable deals on Dremels not long ago the 300 with flex shaft kit was £50 and the 100 piece accessory tin only £10.

If you want something a bit cheaper Maplin have a selection of rotary tools as well, this seems like a reasonable deal http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=45261 or http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=223105for £30

Only real piece of advice I will give is make sure you get a wired one that runs at a high voltage, low voltage and cordless just are not up to the job!
