P5q Deluxe and Ultima 90 mass concerns..

I have an Ultima 90 cooler that i want to use instead of my stock HSF, but i am wondering if it would be worth getting a Xigmatek Crossbow bracket from Scan to try and aid the longevity of my mobo??

The Ultima 90 certainly isnt the heaviest cooler out there, but i'm all for something that could prevent damage at a later stage.

Any advice on whether to bother with the Crossbow or not would be much appreciated!

you'd be suprised at how much stick mobo's can take TBH.

but... if it was me... i wouldn't trust push pins if it was going to be @ 90 degrees to the board...

so personally i would get the crossbow mounting kit as it would give me peace-of-mind in that the cooler isn't going to fall off (but thankfully my mobo came with a backplate so it doesn't really affect me )

Either get the Crossbow or the Bolt-Thru Kit from Thermalright.

Even with the relatively feather weight Arctic Freezer 7 Pro I have on my system I wouldn't trust push pins any more.

You'll need the Thermalright bracket kit, the crossbow kit is different and won't work with the ultima unless you mod it.

The Ultima 90 comes with a backplate and bolt through kit as standard no need to by one seperately

That was going to be my next question! The instructions in the Ultima 90 box are a little lacking!!
