    Why not get intel, cheaper, faster and uses less power.

    They also overclock better.

    Re: AMD new mobo and cpu

    I did think about intel:
    -> mobo: DFI DK P35-T2RS
    -> cpu: Q6600 G0

    I chose AMD because my current system is based on AMD and i thought it will be cool just to stick with AMD.

    DFI DK 790FXB-M2RSH has latest SB-750 chipset which help with overclocking AMD Phenom. I will be happy with 3-3.2ghz range. It is also an FX mobo, GX is more like for multi-media which im not so fond of.

    Re: AMD new mobo and cpu

    The is only two reasons I can see for going for a Phenom system they are,

    1. You like AMD and want to support them and are not really all that bothered if Intel better as long as what you are getting will do the job well
    2. You want to crossfire some 4850's the 790FX and 790GX are a lot cheaper than the X48 for duel x16 PCIe 2

    If I could make one small change it would b to get the 790GX over the FX apparently it offers better overclocking

    Oh and Mike they overclocking is not so bad now, 3.5GHz is possible and 3GHz should be a walk in the park with a 9850 BE

    http://www.anandtech.com/weblog/showpost.aspx?i=498 See there for a 9950 OCed on a 790GX board.

    Re: AMD new mobo and cpu

    All hail Webby!

    You see right through me Webby

    1. You like AMD and want to support them and are not really all that bothered if Intel better as long as what you are getting will do the job well
    It appears to me that mobos with SB750 is easier to overclock compare to mobos with SB600/700.

    And mobo-GX has integrated HD3300 and iam not a big fan of integrated graphics.

    I do like that DFI LanParty Jr. 790GX M2RS board though, micro atx and it overclocks like no others! Be good for air flow as well i supposed.
