Help?

Not sure if this is the right section to ask for help but I'm having a little bit of trouble with the new computer I'm putting together.

I've put everything together but I can't get the darn thing to boot, or even show that it's getting any power for that matter.

I tested the PS (according to Corsair's website) and it seems to be working just fine.

I have a Biostar T-Series TF8200 A2+ and Corsair750TX w/ a 9800GTOC. I'm not sure if it's a broken board or exactly what I should be doing tbh. I was thinking it might be the jumpers. I think I've connected them correctly and I've tried re-arranging things.

I also looked at one other post on this site about the same board. I checked to make sure the CMOS was on 1,2 not 2,3 and it is.

I'm not really sure what I should be doing at this point. Any suggestions would be welcome.

A simple method to check is to look at the motherboard LEDs, do they light up when you switch the power supply on ? A non booting system usually indicate you've not plugged in the required power sockets for the motherboard, or have not seated the RAM properly.

Try starting with the absolute minimum required to boot so motherboard, CPU and 1 stick of ram.
Connect the monitor to the on board graphics.

Check you have the 24pin power and 8pin power connected properly (as in all the way in) and that the CPU fan (well actually any fan will do!) is connected to the CPU fan header.

If it still doesn't post then try the other stick of ram, if sill no boot try all different slots with each stick. Still no post then either the CPU, motherboard, memory or PSU are faulty.

Do the simple stuff first:
1. Check the cable to the PSU is working
2. Check the switch on the PSU is in the ON position
3. Is the 24pin and the 8pin connector secure in the motherboard
4. Check the socket the PC is plugging in to
5. Make usre the power button on the PC is connected to the motherboard correctly. Its amazing how many people get the orientation wrong with the pins.


None of that is taking the pee......they are just the obvious things people forget.

I think Zsev's on the button -if the leds on the Mobo do not light up means the mobo is not getting any juice.

These leds should light up even if the Power button on the PC is not connected to the motherboard properly

No necessarily.
It could mean the motherboard isn't even working.
