    BSOD Memory

Hey guys I think I may have bought faulty RAM but I'm not 100% sure, I got blue screen of death several times, and errors like Boot MGR Missing at post bios and while trying to install vista business 64 Bit i got two blue screen of death errors; PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA and MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. That was all whilst trying to install the OS, can some give me some help and let know if it is a hardware problem or not and how I would solve it thanks.

Also I managed to get thru a good portion of the OS installation then wen it was about to finish initially it was stuck after i created a user account.. it was stuck before the login screen and it keep saying "please wait" and then it would go blank for a second and do the same, it kept blinking. Does anyone know whats going on with my system here, I've just built it properly tonight and I can't even install an OS on it!

    Regards,

    Hassan.

P.S. dont mind the typo's if any, i aint proof read it's

Have you fiddled with the settings in the bios?

    Re: BSOD Memory

Oh I haven't fiddled with the BIOS, it's my first build and I'm using an ASUS P5Q Pro mobo and OCZ 4GB GOLD XTC Memory Kit, i checked system information and it read my ram, 4096 MB. I'm confused at the moment.

Check the memory details on the side of the sticks if it is visable as some of the better quality memory may need you to increase the voltage slightly for stable operation.

    Re: BSOD Memory

Well then you may want to go into the bios at boot up and then find the voltage settings and set the memory (DRAM) voltage to 1.9v (standard is 1.8) that may well fix the problem. Also make sure the timings are 5-5-5-18 or higher (auto should be fine)

    Re: BSOD Memory

If that doesn't fix it try booting with one stick at a time.... generally only one stick will be scrambled unless it's an issue with the RAM slots getting too much voltage due to a faulty mobo, but that's unlikely.

    Re: BSOD Memory

have you ran memtest to confirm the memory is 100% dead
