Overclocking RAM
Hi there! Having some kind of a weird desire to get things optimal, even if it does not matter much for real-world performance, I have a question related to RAM overclocking :) Does someone have experience with achieving tighter timings with any of the Corsair's 2x2GB chips (including PC2-6400 and the PC2-8500)? For instance, can I hope that I can get a CAS5 chip and bring it down to CAS4 or even a CAS4 to CAS3 :D?

Re: Overclocking RAM
You will be unlikely to get a chip rated for 800Mhz C5 and bring it down to C3 but its possible to get them down to C4 especially with a touch more voltage, as with all things overclocking peoples mileage will vary. By that I mean if we both bought the same kit from Scan today then yours may reach speeds of DDR2-1000 C4 while mine are not stable at DDR2-800 C4, all depends on the individual chips (of course variation is not usually as wide as my example) and it is the single worst chip that will determine the maximum overclock or tightest timings.
You are more likely to be able to run 1066MHz C5 at 800 C4 but equally you could just buy 800C4 in the first place ;)
