It is a nice build, just not the best thought out!
With 2x 4870x2s, i'd advise a 30" + monitor otherwise, they are wasted.
you could have gone with the Q9550 for less money, a better cooler such as the thermalright ultra 120 extreme, an X48 DDR2 board, 8GB DDR2 RAM, a better PSU, better case 2x 1TB drives in RAID 1 or something and vista hope premium is the exact same as ultimate, withouth some useless features.
It's a nice build none-the-less, but you could have saved a bit.
Re: My new gaming PC.....
OMG thats a monster of a machine, it will be very quick doing anything !!
Are you planning to be the new NASA launch control?
I really like the thernaltake case, my brother has the same one and it keeps everything cooler than my Antec 900 !
For a monitor anything less than 30inch would be wasted on those cards....QUAD CROSSFIRE hmmm
Re: My new gaming PC.....
I hate to say it but this was a really bad time to spend that sort of money on a PC, you probably could have got a nice i7 system :(
Those gfx cards are crazy on their own and are going to kill at any resolution you throw at them. As has been said, anything less than 30" will waste their potential.
Re: My new gaming PC.....
I think you did some serious overspend there TBH.
Re: My new gaming PC.....
Second that, but it's still a great rig. Have fun and i hope you enjoy it.
Re: My new gaming PC.....
Nice spec. How loud do you find that hard drive, I'm looking into the Spinpoint series myself.
