Please give me a valuation on this PC

    Hi all,

I have an old PC that I'd like to sell to my parents as an office machine, but I need some guidance on what to ask for it.

    Athlon 3200XP
    1.5GB RAM
    120GB HDD - OS drive
320GB HDD - a fairly modern Seagate for docs
    Radeon 1600xt AGP 256mb GFX
    CD RW/DVD R
Nice and shiny 550W or thereabouts PSU
    Official copy of XP

I don't think it's worth very much at all but atm I have literally 0 idea.

    Cheers all!

    Adam

Sell it to your parents????????? Surely after all the years of TLC they have nurtured you with - the least you can do is donate it to them! This will make you very popular and remind them yet again what a wonderful son you are!

When/if it goes wrong, you can enhance your status even more by going round and mending it for them!

Lol! Yeah you have a point and to be fair they are insisting that they buy it. As to returning home to fix it - it's about a 600pound round trip from Beijing to Nottingham...

    I'm thinking about 100pounds?

Sorry I sort of assumed they might be just down the road!

Can't imagine what the postage is going to be then

I guess there will be no aftersales support then???

Yeah £100 to satisfy their desire to "pay" has gotta be about right, go for it.

Lol - aftersales is provided, free of charge, via skype, as it has been for many, many weekends now Mum - have you plugged it in? Yes? And you've turned it on? Ah - there we go

P&P isn't going to be a problem - I left it at home during this year out. They have to move it approx 20feet from my room to their study

Also - I can't really afford to give it away - it's my computer and when I get back home I'll need to buy a new one - this way at the very least I get 100quid to put towards the machine I'll replace it with - should buy me the case and mobo
