    ASUS P6T how do i overclock ?

Can someone explain with bios screen shots how i overclock the Asus P6T deluxe with a 2.66 Ghz 920 i7 cpu and corsair tripple channel 1866 RAM ?

On the corsair site I have read about increasing the BCLK Mhz and changing the Dram timings to 9 9 9 24 and upping the Dram bus voltage, but the article seemed to miss out some things ? does anyone have a start to finish procedure with bios screenshots and explanation of why certain settings are increased.
I know i am asking alot, i am a beginner to overclocking but not to pc building.

    Thankyou

    Gaz

Hey gaz2008. I'm the author of that tutorial linked above. I thought I'd sign up and see how you're going with the overclocking. If you have any issues, let me know, so I can help.

No problem. I'm currently putting the finishing touches on my new overclocking tutorial. It encompasses AMD Athlon, Core 2 and Core i7 overclocking. It's a complete beginners guide for those with no experience.

Re: ASUS P6T how do i overclock ?

Cyb3rGlitch thanks for your reply i am looking into how to do it rather than actually doing it at the moment. I will be referring to and using the info you have provided thanks for that knowledge.

for 920 i7cpu and the Asus p6t deluxe though so far I've got

AI Overclock Tuner - change to manual

    host clock (BCLK) Frequency 133 change to 150, 160, 178 or 200 for 4ghz

change dram time control, dram cas latency to 9 9 9 24 or whatever your RAM is rated at

dram bus voltage 1.66v dont go above this (vdimm)

dram frequency - 1600 mhz there are 3 choices here auto 1203 and 1603 choose 1603 if your ram can handle it

ICH and IOH 1.3v (ICH10 is southbridge and i think IOH used to be on the northbridge now its on cpu although im confused about this x58 is the northbridge apparently)

    Spread spectrum - disabled

    Intel Turbo Mode - Disable

example Vcore voltage of 1.475v with BCLK of 200 (voltage being fed to cpu cores)
I have also seen example cpu vcore voltage of 1.35 and cpu pll of 1.96 and qpi/dram core voltage 1.35 (this probably should have been called uncore voltage or QPI/memory controller voltage in the bios according to what i have read)

keep the CPU uncore voltage (qpi within 0.5V difference of the DRAM voltage (1.66)
    1.66 -1.35 = 0.31 within 0.5v difference to avoid cpu/ram destruction

Enabling the HPET (High Performance Event Timer), or as Asus label it, APCI 2, is critical for keeping the clocks on Core i7 CPUs accurate

    cpu Differential Amplitude 800Mv

What do you think of these values ? do they look right, i want everything covered before i do anything.
    Thanks

Re: ASUS P6T how do i overclock ?

I haven't been able to use the Nehalem personally, I based all my information off theory and mates who have had the chance to use them. The values look correct, just remember to start small.
