    Asus a7n8x deluxe

Well im currently using this motherboard and 2x256 twinmos pc3200 at 200fsb which makes my 2500+@3200+ and its stable, just wondering how i can get more than 200fsb as the bios limits the frequency to max of 200. So do i need to update the bios or is there any jumpers i need to change?

    Cheers,

    Paul

what bios version do you have? i have 1007, and you can go past 200mhz... have you set all the options under the 'advanced chipset features' to 'user' or whatever it is, so you can change the fsb from 100-whatever in 1mhz steps rather than the 100/133/166/200 they have?

I have the one it came with, which is the default one for a Asus A7N8X Deluxe rev2 as i have not changed my bios at all so i assume its the same as all the rev2.0's bios's.

I have not tryed that, it is not accesible through the default one is it? Only thing i was a little jumpy with is flashing the bios, because if it mucks up ive got a dead motherboard .

The best BIOS for this board in the overclocker perspective is the Uber 1004. You can find it here:

FYI, I was stucked at 200 Mhz with 1007, but was rock stable at 221 with 1004 (I was hold back by my Corsair Twinx-3200LL then )

A7N8X-Dlx Uber 1007 :contains latest SATA bios already v4.2.27

i presume that one is the 'uber' version of the 1007 bios i have, but is the 1004 one still better?

if you got a driver disc with your mobo the bios update tool is on there
its called asusupdate you can update the mobo bios through windows with it which makes updating your bios alot easier than flashing it from a floppy
