Zak the bios killer fails to kill one!

I have nuked a fair few bios;. Actually, that's an understatement...I've killed bloody loads.

I hate BIOS. It's something that I hate to flash. I dont mind settings WITHIN BIOS, it's just the updating or flashing... hate them.

And they hate me. Agent knows...he's had to reflash literally ... a dozen I think! Poor sod, he's always so patient with me too. I dunno how I do it. Sometimes, I power down after a failed overclock.... and it'll never reboot.

    Sometimes I have ot flash one...for a new processor...and it'll crash.

And most recently, the BIOS chip gained a bloody great big burn mark on the top of it, just by me being near it. (ok,.....this isn't demonology or witchcraft....but I didnt touch it, I swear, ad nothing shorted on it...it just....wouldn't post)

    BUT....INTEL , YOU ARE GODS!

GODS.... of the kind I shall worship. Prolly forever. Because not only do you have Windows based BIOS flashers, which I used to 100% success this week.... BUT, when the BIOS was wrong for my chip (long story) and the Windows bios flasher wouldn't go BACK to an older one... it wasn't a problem

Downloaded the older BIOS for CD flashing... and followed the website guide. It goes like this, and if I can do it, ANYONE can

    Down load the .bio file.
Burn it to a CD just like a standard data disk (I used nero, 30 seconds job)
    Put cd in drive.
    Power off and unplug
Take CMOS jumper OFF and leave it OFF
reboot....and be ultra patient...after nearly a minute of fans spinning flat out...the keyboard flickered, the screen came up and the bios flashed from CD and even reminded me to put the CMOS jumper back on before rebooting.

AND it remembered the DATE AND TIME after all that!

    INTEL....you are GODS!

    I'm absolutely made up

I HATE BIOS and now I am less scared. In fact... I think I'll be building more of this kinda system wkth legit INTEL boards, and not partners ones so much.

Intel boards are always solid no-nonsense kit. Only just recently have they been making them more for the 'home build' market.
    I've used them plenty
