Media Center + HDTV Problems
Hello,
Having a bit of trouble with my media center (windows xp mce 2005) and the connection to my tv - not sure on exact spec but can find out - its a panasonic (i think) 50" plasma, i think max res is 1080i.
It is connected to the tv via a dvi to hdmi cable.
If i turn the tv channel over to hdmi2 and then turn the media center on, i can see it boot up etc and everything is fine - however, if the media center is already on (perhaps recording a tv show or just left on) and i then turn the tv on and switch over to hdmi2 i get the error message 'no input signal detected' - i can hear the media center through the tv speakers though so i think it is a problem with either the connection of which i have tried another cable,or the resolution of which i have tried 1280x768, 1280x720 and 1024x768 with no joy.
Any suggestions? :crazy::crazy:

Does it have anything to do with the screen saver ?
try turning it off if there is one
and make sure "never" is in power option properties / power schemes / turn off monitor
If your PC boots and the tv is not turned on, then thePC may not see the monitor and defaults to a resolution that was used when XP was installed. This could be out of range.
TBH the only way to resolve this, is to wipe the display adapter drivers and reinstall when attached to the TV.

I have the exact same issue with my media pc. It was ok on my ATI card but when I moved to my nVidia card it has this issue.

Nothing to do with the screensaver as i can turn on the tv a minute after the media center and see nothing but i can scroll through the media center menus using the remote and hear them
