Best PSU with UK warranty ?

I currently have a Corsair HX620 PSU which has died after just over 1 year. Although it has a 5 year warranty, it would cost approx. £24 to send it to the Netherlands for RMA replacement. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to do this, as I may just ut my loasses and put the money towards a new PSU with a UK warranty (ie. if it goes wrong after 1 year, I only have to send it to somewhere in the UK).

Which PSU manufacturer's offer UK warranties, and for how long is the warranty period ?

Which are the best PSU's around the following prices, which have a UK warranty, and how long is the UK warranty:

    a) £60 ?
    b) £80 ?
    c) £100 ?
    d) Over £100 ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm currently without my main rig which I depend on so much.

Enermax are based in the UK and are pretty damn good PSU's. The rest I checked out have EU bases. I can see why Enermax are a good choice and I will be getting one of them for my next PSU (lest someone better comes along and is UK based)

as i said in the other thread...

you can send the unit to the retailer for the FULL duration of the warranty...

so you can send it to ebuyer for repair for up to 5 years... and then they ship it to the EU on your behalf, and they take the postage brunt... it's one of their responsibilities as a retailer...

therefore your shipping costs are for within the UK...
negating the need for a new PSU.. and saving you money..

If you buy a Corsair from Scan you can return it to Scan for the full 5 year warranty hope this information helps.

Nice to know that stuff. I had no idea that was still possible after the 1 year nor that Scan did that either.

Re: Best PSU with UK warranty ?

I bought the FSP 700W PSU from Scan a month ago for £30. Great quality PSU for a bargain price. I'm actually thinking about buying another one as a backup for the 3 machines I have.

Corsair IMO, they have always been fantastic support wise for me & even have their own forums on hexus! I wouldnt go with anyone else for a PSU/RAM.

ARe you sure? cos i thought etailers only had to cover for year and after that its with the manufacturer directly.

Whats the point of a warranty when you have to dish out £24 for shipping! Corsair should cover this themselves, its unacceptable that a PSU dies just after a year and then you have to pay for it to be repaired!

they do but if you've bought it from Scan it seems they will be nice enough to get it fixed for you within it's warranty.

    PCP&C would be the best
    followed by seasonic and corsair
    then probably OCZ
    based on my experience

but they all ship to the netherlands/usa after the first year of the retailers warranty is gone. The OP has this problem with his current PSU hence trying to avoid it with his next

Re: Best PSU with UK warranty ?

I was hoping that TAKTAK was bang on with his comment about returning it to the retailer for RMA handling, as I have a PCP&C PSU that needs replacement having used it for almost 4 years, has warranty of 5 years but postage is ridiculous, would consider getting another PSU, such as the Corsair VX or Enermax Pro 82+.

Based on your advice, I asked ebuyer and they said only if it was within 1 year, and that after that I should contact Corsair directly. However, they may have thought I was asking them (ie. ebuyer) to replace the PSU, so I have written to them again clarifying the matter.

You don't happen to have a link to the legal document which states they are still responsible during the whole 5 year warranty ?
