aye, thats is the current state of things

intel have been on top for a while now, AMD used to be out in front, now there is nothing going for them on high end machines

    low end - AMD
    mid-high -Intel ()

    Re: AMD vs Intel

If scan ever works again I'm going to buy an AMD.

At the moment it will be a 6000+ X2 as I have decided if AM3 works on AM2+ then I might as well tide them over with an X2 which is almost certainly going to be fast enough at 3.1Ghz.

Kalniel and TakTak are both correct, and, i think quite helpful in their answer.

It's working for me! (Scan, by the way, is a website selling PC parts)

That's a whole, barely english mouthful. What Mike is saying is that AMD's next most likely product will, in all probability, be good enough for him.

That's slang. Remove the "e" and you'll get the idea - basically bragging rights.

All in all, if you are unsure what you want or need, either manufacturer generally keeps the other 'on the ball' so you cant get a bad product, with one or 2 proviso's.
Do you know what you want your computer to do?
I'm commenting on an internet forum. Your facts hold no sway over me.

The Scan comment was due to downtime the other day due to a power outtage at the Scan volcano lair.

Well yes and no. If you are buying a dedicated gfx card intel probably makes the most sense but as long as they are around 2.4Ghz and you are gaming at a reasonably high resolution then it won't make a blind bit of difference.
