    Dodgy Mouse - keeps Disconnecting/connecting

Recently my mouse (Logitech G5) has been connecting and disconnecting. Very annoying when I'm ingame, and I can't change wep, talk, fire or change direction.
What do you think the cause could be? Dodgy wiring? Or bad drivers? I've tried it without the SetPoint on, and it still did it.

I've tried it in diff USB ports and this hasn't helped, I'm running out of ideas and patience :/

Plugging mice into USB port is not good, I would plug it into the dedicated mouse port ... I'm oldschool, I assume they still make those lol.

But if the problem persists then it sounds like you got a malfunction! Send it back if you still have warranty... get it replaced. The G5 is an amazing mouse, how long have you had it? Did it break soon after buying it?

go into device manager and find the mouse, right click and properties then power managment, clear the checkbox that allows it to turn off to save power.

if that fails raise a online support ticket and they will ask some questions, ask you to destroy the mouse and send pics (sometimes) and UPS you a new one,

    Good advice.

Hope it all works out for you.

Cheers, will try that later. It's never done it before, had it for over a year I think.

Tried that and it was already unchecked. Online ticket created, will keep you updated with how it proceeds.

Loads of advanced mice will not use the advanced features over PS2 (My Razor won't for a start).

Even overclocking the PS2 sample rate now is pointless as most modern mice do the processing on board

In what way is USB "not good"?

Well, as I mentioned, I'm oldschool... back 5 years ago when I was gaming, the usb ports would cause lag in mouse movements at times... so PS2 was the only way to go.

But I can deduce from your response that usb has come a long way, much like everything else lol.

I'm just getting back into computers since the Pentium 3 and 4 era...
