Cooling CPU

I really want to cool my cpu down but i'm wondering whats the best way to do it. I've tried reseating the heatsink and that lowered temps but not the load ones. (Q6600 B3 stock 75) Due to it being a dell i cant install a new heatsink (i hate dells now. Wasn't so into pc's when i brough it) but i have noticed that the heatsink seems to be passively cooled. The only fan is at the front of the pc is about 5cm away blowing air onto it. Does anyone know if i can install a fan onto the Dell E520 heatsink (i even thought about sticky tape ) Also if i was to add two exhaust fans could i see a difference or not.

Nothing wrong with sticking or floating fans if you are in a bind.. go for it.

Any exhaust fans you can add will generate some air flow through the case so the more the better if it's struggling.

It does but its not directly on the heatsink.

Oh,You could try cable ties to fix a fan to the heatsink maybe.

You could also try adding some form of ducting to direct more of the air from the fan directly on to the CPU heatsink. (Like CAI on a car).

if so you should be able to swap the fan for one with a bit more power and/or cut some holes in the back of the shroud and mount a 2nd fan to pull the air out (not sure how effective that will be)

Also you can mount a rear fan with a bit of creative tieing like this
