Any one planning to get a AM3 phenom2??

Im waiting to see when these are going to be coming out and if the price of DDR3 will drop sufficiently to be worth the premium over a good AM2 DDR 2 rig.

Overclocking is a must for me so lets hope the are good ones as some of the previews seem to think

Yep I'm defo upgrading to phenom2 chip and new motherboard. It's not going to be cheap though with rip of Britain i bet it'll be £300 + for the chip. I seem to have given an Intel rig a miss for some reason, I'm far to lazy to open my case to change stuff lol.

I'm hoping the release of the new 45nm phenom chips will encourage Intel to drop the pric of i7. Any ideas when they will be released?

Yes. At least, indications are that way. I don't think AMD have really confirmed it for certain.

Well since I am about to buy a new AM2+, I was going to get a quad since the prices are heading in the right direction but I might hedge my bets with a dual for now then.
