Quick Question
A mate of mine is about to by a studio desktop pc from dell and has asked me if i know whether or not he can upgrade the ram seeing as its 30 quid for an extra gig lol... i haven't used dell but know all their stuff used to be soldered down or not upgradable... is this still the case or could he stick some of that 4gb corsair for 35 quid from scan:D

yeh should be fine, hack the side off the case and check though, they like to make their mobo as un upgrade as possible.
When my friend tried to add another hdd in his old dell, it only had 1 sata port...

If its the hybrid, then it takes SODIMMs

And if its the standard ATX ones, then it **should** take standard DIMMs as dell as moved past the stage of soldering everything and having special fittings :)

Dell use far more standard parts now execpt the motherboards & case which are custom jobs, it was a while back when they and others were using odd parts I seem to remember the memory issue was that the retention brackets were different and the ram had the cutouts on the edges at a different height.

just found a review, uses standard DDRII ram :)
