    Exclamation DFI Motherboard Error

Having finally collected all the parts required for a new system, I completed the build about an hour ago...

I am getting an error (code 88) from the (BRAND NEW) Motherboard. It is a DFI Lanparty DK P45-T2RS Plus. Checking the debug table in the manual, I am instructed that the error could be caused by 1) Mixed up BIOS data or 2) The Mobo is defective.

I have tried the method for clearing the CMOS data as stated in the manual, and I'd like to see if anyone has a suggestion as to anything else I could try before I phone SCAN tomorrow to see how I go about RMAing the board.

    Any and all help appreciated.

EDIT: Just realised this is in the wrong section...

    Re: DFI Motherboard Error

Check that the shipping BIOS supports the E7300, it might not.

Also try removing the battery for a few mins.

Tried removing the battery, but thanks for the suggestion.

How do I check the shipping BIOS?

    Re: DFI Motherboard Error

You'll either need to borrow a CPU and flash to the latest BIOS version before swapping the 7200 back, or take it to a computer shop and get them to do it for you.

Have you tried one stick of memory at a time? Might be worth a try.

Was hoping I wouldn't need to take it into a shop.

Yeah, i've tried one stick at a time. Also tried in different slots.

    Re: DFI Motherboard Error

I don't know if this might help, but have you tried to put a fan on the chipset? It could be overheating.

    Re: DFI Motherboard Error

    Well, quick update.

I decided to dissassemble and rebuild the system, to make sure I hadn't wired anything up wrong. Doing so, I managed to find a couple power leads that were hidden in the middle of the bundle (pair of square 4 pin connectors). With these connected, the PC is working at last.

Thanks for the help and suggestions everyone gave.
