P45, G45 or any of the others, that is the question

    Hi guys

Good Monday morning to you all.

having helped with quite a few questions and choosing my GFX card on system fans I now need a bit help choosing a mobo.

I want to spend about £80-100 max I know I will probably be able to get a good board well below this price but would rather pay that bit extra for quality.

Its going to be for a C2D E8400.

Ive had a look on scan but have no idea which motherboard would best suit my needs.

I am going to have 4 gig ddr2 800 MHz and xp, I know it wont all be seen but I'm ok with that.

I would like to have a mobo that offers relatively easy overclocking as I am going to start to venture into overclocking once I have this system up and running.

I am not bothered about having a xfire or sli mobo as a don’t think I will ever have the cash to drop a 2nd card into my rig.

Once again and because I know I will get the info needed,

    Thanks for the help ppl

Wouldn't bother with the G's unless you need onboard graphics.

    Nice P45 here

As Mike says the G motherboards have onboard graphics, but also are microATX form factor, so you may need one if you have a small case.

Otherwise his choices are very good.
