Two Nvidia Cards on a X-Fire board
As the title say is it possible to run two nvidia card on a X-Fire board but not in sli but as one for Physx.
This is becausce after christmas i will be upgrading my pc :) and i'm probaly going to get a 260GTX and after EA annouced that physx would be in there games i thought i may as well see if i can keep my 8800gt and use it just as a physx card. Is this possible.
Re: Two Nvidia Cards on a X-Fire board
Certainly sounds feasible.. Some cards are fussy together regardless of manafacturer though.
Re: Two Nvidia Cards on a X-Fire board
You can use a 2nd card in non-sli to run a 2nd monitor, I don't know if you cat set a 2nd card just to run the new gpu physx.
That's a good question :undecided
Re: Two Nvidia Cards on a X-Fire board
In theory you can use the 2nd card for PhysX, although I haven't tested it myself yet I have seen reports on xtremesystems of people doing it in both XP and Vista.
Re: Two Nvidia Cards on a X-Fire board
I seem to be going inot to uncharted territory here. :)
What i've just though about though, is if it's actually worth it. When not that meny game use physx (but with EA onboard) and how much would i get for a 8800GT.
Probaly not that much if i think about ~£50 so would the £50 be worth it.
Edit: http://www.slizone.com/object/sli_cuda_learn.htmlhttp://www.slizone.com/object/sli_cuda_learn.html It's shown on the Nvidia website and i can't see how a X-fire board would stop it as they are both PCI-E slots.
Re: Two Nvidia Cards on a X-Fire board
tbh, i'd just sell the 8800GT and get yourself up town and get pished :P:)
