Question Which SFF Sould I Go For ??

    Hi
I cant make up my mind which to go for either the Shuttle Spacewalker XPC ST61G4 or Shuttle Spacewalker XPC SB75G2 , then there is the EQ3401A Aluminium Barebones ,which has the 2 drive bay advantage.
When i do make a choice the machine will be used for Gaming and as a Home Theater, plus web browsing,i will also be ading the following to my choosen machine :-
    Intel Pentium 4 2600C Retail
    Samsung SpinPoint P80 160gb SATA
    Plextor 708A DVD Rewriter
    Sapphire 9600XT 256MB
    DigiTV PCI Card
    OCZ PC3200 x2 512mb=1024mbPlatinum DChan

Which way should i choose ? ,any suggestion would be a help.

    Nick,

I'm a newbie to XPC's and I had pretty much the same issue as you in that there is so much to choose from that I had no idea which to choose. After narrowing down to two (ST61G4 and SN85G4) I eventually took a dive and went for the ST61G4. Its a great little machine, simple to assemble and runs like a dream. I don't really do much gaming on mine (got the Xbox for that !) which was one of the factors leading to my final choice. It also has the O/B sound and graphics, so I don't have to spend any extras on those, it all works fine. Its happily playing DVDs, music and everything else I've thrown at it. The only moan I've got is that even though the ST61G4 has the SilentX PSU, its not really as quiet as its made out to be, well in comparison to my other PC. I don't have another XPC to compare it with, so I can't comment on the improvement in comparison to other Shuttle XPCs.

At the end of the day, there is no "best machine", its really down to personal preference. I got mine from microdirect, they were the cheapest I managed to find. Whatever you decide on......have fun !!

For my money I would go with the SB75G2 (but it's not ). The performance of this system can't be beat.
